We definitely look forward to when the Pantone Fashion Color Report comes out telling us what’s on trend for the coming season. The entire color palette is exciting to see and invariably there are a few each season that stick out as our favorites. What I am sincerely surprised with however, is just how much I have completely and utterly fallen for the 2012 color of the year, Tangerine Tango.
Having forever been drawn to the color red and actually going great lengths to avoid any orange from permeating my world, I think “what gives?” Is it that it is more of a “reddish” orange? Is it because it seems to have a certain unique vibrancy that I am subconsciously seeking? Is it because it seems like the perfect summer color?
Whatever the reason, I find myself turning my head at anything in Tangerine Tango and sneaking it into my life. I keep a fresh supply of daisies in this color in my kitchen, wear it on my toes and have even incorporated a few pieces into my wardrobe…and I am looking for new additions as I continue my fanciful Tango with Tangerine this year.
Here are some things I have my eye on lately:

A fun way to add Tangerine Tango to a room at home is via an accent wall. It adds a depth, vibrancy, and warmth with a strong, visual pop. The best part is that an accent wall is always easy to change.

A gorgeous. modern chair placed in the room is a fun way to incorporate this color (note my favorite color Gerber Daisies nestled beside the chair).:)

Some say ONLY white towels in a bathroom will do, but I love the pop color provides — especially in Tangerine Tango.

I love the new Pantone iPhone covers! Perhaps it is the easiest way to add this color to my daily life.

Now these are truly some fancy pants. Having carried the nickname “Fancy Pants” early in my career, I see these as only fitting to wear!

Okay, maybe not the most practical purchase but what a statement it makes! Note, this trumps the bath towels above unless you want to use both in the bathroom to create an impressionable one-two punch.

Saving the best for last…I have been in love with this dress this summer. I don’t usually wear lace but it is the color and style that just seem like the perfect sunblazed summer dress for a special evening.
We’ll continue to add to our “Doing the Tango” Pinterest board if you want to look for or share other ideas and join us in the Tango!
